Brand new Meditation Centre and Yoga studio, with brand new laminate floors, bright, with a wooden ceiling.
The teachers are all extremely knowledgeable and warm, and really focus on helping you advance your own practice. Has one wall of mirrors for those who like to use them, but it is not overwhelming for those who don’t. Wide variety of classes, from 100% meditation (Yoga Nidra), to blended meditation and Asanas (e.g. Kundalini), to hardcore Strength / Power Yoga focusing on form, alignment, conditioning, and muscles. Awesome, I have not found other pure strength/ power yoga classes in K-W. On top of this, classes on restorative yoga and other types of yoga; come explore for yourselves.
On top of that, the (friendly) owner told me today that this fall, lots of interesting workshops are being scheduled – I am assuming on topics ranging from healing, to meditation, to even more types of yoga and pathways regarding the mind / body connection!
The very best part is that because the studio only literally opened 2 weeks ago, classes are still small, so teachers have the opportunity to REALLY talk with you and customize their teaching to your individual journey! No kidding! The yoga teachers also teach using gentle hands on adjustments (after asking for consent of course)! This is refreshing to see because it helps so much but is something that seems to be quite rare for yoga studios I have tried in the K-W region (not sure why)!
Some yoga studios are very formal/ strict and others are just too casual, joking, or unstructured in their approach and expectations. Here, the class atmosphere is neither 100% serious with firm rules like “don’t say a single word during class!”, nor too casual / laid back (i.e. do whatever you poses you want, and/or blurt out or gab about anything!).
In sum, I look forward to practicing here more, and even bringing with me more family and friends. Namaste! Marvin.
